Amp Knob
How would you fix a knob that breaks off an electric guitar amp by yourself?
I just think it would be a good thing to know.
Ok, what if it’s broke right where it goes into the board?
My bad, broke off the peg where it goes in the board.
OK,
If you broke the shaft itself, you are going to have to replace the potentiometer behind the control panel. Find out where the panel mounting screws are and remove them to free the panel so you can pull it out to get to the “pot”. Mark the wire color codes on a sheet of paper so you can solder the wires onto the new pot. Remove the wires from the pot and take it out by loosening the nut on the front panel. then the pot should come right off. Take it down to a Radio shack or Fry’s electronics (if you have a Fry’s around) and have the people get you a pot with compatible resistance and terminals.
Put the pot back on the panel and rewire it the same as you took it off.
That ought to fix you up. Probably cost you less than 10 bucks.
