Rage Against

do you agree with the political views of Rage Against the Machine?
i love rage against the machine, musically. i dont completely support their political views but i admire them for how they assert their views. for example, many people criticize their signing with sony, they say “you cant fight the man while he’s paying you”, but i love this because it is that sarcasm that allows rage to assert themselves so well. what are your thoughts?
Yes, for the most part. I am a democratic socialist, and the guys from Rage are too. People like to lump socialism with Stalin, and Hitler, but the truth is that the socialism RATM support is that of George Orwell’s idea. Their other views dealing with social justice, and eliminating inequality etc I am definitely in support of. As for their being signed to Sony: they signed so that they could get their message out to the masses. If they had gone indie only a handful of people would have taken notice. Supposedly the band is in the studio right now working on a new album according to La Tercera Magazine. Now they could go indie with this alleged new album since they now have enough resources to do it. They wouldn’t necessarily need to go for the masses anymore because they already have a built in fanbase, and this new generation of kids listen to crap like Justin Bieber, so RATM wouldn’t be marketable to them anyway. I’m going on a tangent now but anyway…I definitely hope that the rumors about this new album are true because I love RATM!
